Kingsemi to Divest 50% Stake in Guangzhou Xinzi – Loss-Making Subsidiary on the Block

Release date:2026-08-20 Number of clicks:190

Kingsemi (688037), a semiconductor equipment maker, plans to sell its entire 50% stake in subsidiary Guangzhou Xinzi Technology through the Beijing Equity Exchange. The transaction – still in early stage – will exit Kingsemi completely from the loss‑making unit.

The book value of the stake is RMB 30 million, with the final listing price to be determined by a state‑owned asset‑appraised valuation. The board’s executive committee approved the sale on August 17.

Guangzhou Xinzi, founded September 2023 and capitalized at RMB 60 million after two 2024 capital increases, posted a net loss of RMB 3.0 million in Q1 2026 (assets: RMB 43.4M; liabilities: RMB 6.8M). The disposal remains subject to SOE approval, filing, and public listing procedures – so the buyer, final price, and timing are not yet determined.

The move is part of Kingsemi’s strategy to streamline assets, sharpen focus on core equipment business, and improve operational efficiency – shedding non‑core, pre‑profit ventures to concentrate resources on its main semiconductor equipment.

ICgoodFind Takeaway:
Kingsemi is trimming loss‑making units to stay lean and focused. For the semiconductor equipment sector, this reflects a broader push toward asset optimization and core‑business concentration.
